Fire engulfs building Tuesday afternoon west of Alexandria

Fire crews and law enforcement responded to a structure fire at 8250 County Road 8 NW, west of Alexandria, around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
As firefighters arrived, thick, black smoke plumed into the sky and large flames rolled from the building; initial reports were that a garage on the property caught fire.
The property is heavily wooded and fire crews had to set up on the county road. Garfield and Brandon Fire Departments were at the scene battling the blaze.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office also responded to the fire.
