The Ashby baseball team fell 10-1 at the hands of Wheaton last Friday night.

The Arrows got just four hits against the Warriors. Allard LaRue, Drew Risbrudt, Tanner Langlie and Jason Odens had one each and Gage Olson had the lone RBI for the Arrows.

Dylan Barry got the start and lasted the first five innings. He gave up nine runs, only three of which were earned. Reed Hanson gave up a run in the final inning.

"We struggled to get anything going offensively and gave up too many unearned runs," assistant coach Blaine Barry said. "Defensively, we had seven errors, which makes it tough to stay in the game. We've got to do a better job fielding the ball if we are going to be competitive."

BROWERVILLE 12, B-E 5

The Brandon-Evansville baseball team was still searching for its first win of the season after falling 12-3 at Osakis and 12-5 against Browerville late last week.

The Chargers were within two runs going into the sixth before the Tigers opened things up. JT Huisman gave Brandon-Evansville five strong innings and allowed just four Browerville runs in his first varsity start.

"JT wiggled his way out of a couple jams and kept us in the game until he left after five innings of work," head coach Brian Perleberg said. "JT isn't going to overpower hitters, but he pitched smart and limited his walks, while getting the support he needed from his defense."

Nolan Bartholomew went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and a stolen base to lead the Chargers' offense. Billie Juul scored three runs after a hit and two walks, while Levi Hintermeister added a double and a walk.
