Speaker to address future of clean energy

J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director for Fresh Energy, Inc., will speak on the future of clean energy in Alexandria on Thursday, April 26.
Following her radio interview on KXRA 1490 at 9 a.m., Hamilton will speak at the Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC), Room 310 north building, at 11:30 a.m.
Sponsored by the 7th Congressional District Citizens Climate Lobby, the event at the ATCC is free and open to the public.
Hamilton’s responsibilities include scientific analysis, policy development, and advocacy of clean energy solutions to global warming that will maximize economic opportunities for the Midwest.
Each year, she gives more than 50 invited presentations on solutions to energy problems. Her recent audiences around the country include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Xcel Energy, Target, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and Great River Energy.
Hamilton earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in physical geography from Dartmouth College and the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis on climatology and water resources. She was formerly assistant professor at The George Washington University.
