The Lake Region Writers Network is seeking manuscripts for the second edition of the Lake Region Review.
They seek quality fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry by writers in Minnesota and the eastern Dakotas, especially from those with personal connections to the region. The work does not need to be grounded in the region.
The deadline is May 1. For submission guidelines, go online to http://www.lakeregionwriters.net/?page_id=318 or e-mail LakeRegionWriters@gmail.com.
The Lake Region Review No. 2 will make its debut on Saturday, October 6 at the Lake Region Writers Network Conference. Will Weaver, a nationally acclaimed Minnesota author, will be the keynote speaker at that event.

ABOUT THE LAKE REGION WRITERS NETWORK
Lake Region Writers Network was started in 2009. Its purpose is to “support literary writers in West Central Minnesota.”
In October 2009, 75 writers registered for the first writers conference held in Fergus Falls.
A website was started at www.lakeregionwriters.net to keep writers informed about networking opportunities, resources and to help writers get published. The website now has an active writers’ blog, a Facebook community, and up-to-date information about literary writing.
In April 2010, Lake Region Writers Network became recognized as a 501(c)(3) voluntary community service organization. It has a board of 15 people who come from cities, towns and rural communities across West Central Minnesota.
In 2010, 240 writers from throughout Minnesota and North Dakota attended the fall conference, where writers were encouraged to submit work for possible inclusion in a new literary magazine called Lake Region Review. More than 200 submissions came in. Works by 27 writers were selected for inclusion in the first issue.
