One injured in two-vehicle crash Monday

An Alexandria woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8th Avenue East and Nokomis Street in Alexandria Monday around 2:45 p.m.

According to an Alexandria Police Department report, Eleanor Norling, 91, of Alexandria was on 8th Avenue when she pulled out onto Nokomis Street and was hit by a southbound truck driven by Andrew Becker, 27, of Long Prairie. APD reported that Norling failed to yield to Becker.

When Becker’s truck hit Norling’s car, it pushed the car up onto a curb and a power pole was hit. Alexandria Light and Power and Alexandria Fire Department responded to the scene, along with Alexandria Police Department and North Ambulance. Norling was taken to Douglas County Hospital where she was treated and released.
