Softball: Brandon-Evansville tops West Central Area for second straight victory

The Knights couldn't get past pitcher Kinsley Randt

The Brandon-Evansville softball team won its second straight game to start the season in a 14-4 game against West Central Area last Thursday.

Kinsley Randt struck out 11 WCA batters on her way to picking up the win. Doranna Blascyk threw a complete game for the Knights, striking out nine.

Brandon-Evansville got to her for 16 hits on the night. Megan Kokett did a lot of the damage at the top of the lineup, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI.

“Our bats came to life today,” Chargers head coach Tim Pattrin said. “We had a little lull in the field in the fifth but responded very well the rest of the game. For our young team, they handled the adversity very well, and I’m proud of them for that.”

Randt added two hits and three RBIs to help herself. Tasmine Okerlund and Kristine Bettermann each added three hits, as well.

Amber Oberg led the Knights with two hits.
