Engagement - Brand and Monroe

Emily Brand of Louisville, Kentucky and Joel Monroe of Oshkosh, Wisconsin announce their engagement.

Emily is the daughter of Dr. Jeff and Bonnie Brand of Alexandria. She is a 2004 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria and a 2008 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She will receive her doctor of medicine degree in May 2012 from the University of Louisville and will pursue an orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Joel is the son of Kelley and Nancy Monroe of Brooklyn Park. He is a 2004 graduate of Robbinsdale Cooper High School in New Hope and a 2009 graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. He is a research and development engineer in the food packaging industry in Neenah, Wisconsin.

A May 26, 2012 wedding is planned at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria. A reception will follow at Carlos Creek Winery.
