• Bill Vogeler joined more than 200 of his fellow representatives at the Investment Centers of America, Inc. (ICA) national education conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The annual event, held March 7-10 at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort, provided an opportunity for attendees to share strategies for developing effective solutions to help clients reach their financial goals.
The theme of this year’s conference was retirement income planning and encouraged representatives to strive for excellence by communicating proactively with clients and demonstrating the value of professional financial advice while accomplishing their goals. The event featured workshops and educational sessions designed to help the company’s representatives manage their businesses more effectively in order to take their practices to the next level.

• Noonan Sport Specialists is proud to announce the addition of a new trainer at their Alexandria strength and conditioning facility. Certified Personal Trainer Dawn Coauette joined co-owners Mike Hawes and Dustin Schlichting and their staff in March.
Coauette, originally from Fargo, North Dakota, graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1997. She is currently finishing her final semester at Alexandria Technical and Community College where she will receive an AAS degree in health and fitness. Coauette will be assuming the position of personal trainer for Noonan Sport Specialists at their main facility on Hawthorne Street in downtown Alexandria.
Along with being a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Coauette will be taking the National Strength and Conditioning Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists test in May. Her responsibilities will include program design, implementation and administration of personal training for individuals and semi-private groups.
Coauette completed her internship at Noonan Sport Specialists from January to March 2012 and has been coaching swimming, as either an assistant or head coach, for more than five years.
Located at 503 Hawthorne Street, Suite 145 in downtown Alexandria, Noonan Sport Specialists is a 4,000 square-foot, year-round training facility that provides professional training in athleticism and fitness to individuals at any age and skill level to improve strength and movement.
• Douglas Scientific, a provider of Array Tape for high throughput applications in bioscience laboratories, announced several key management promotions along with the addition of two new business professionals.
Darren Cook was promoted to vice president of strategy and business development. His new responsibilities include leading market strategy and opportunity prioritization, providing market trend analyses and recommendations, regarding applications, product and alliance opportunities. This new role will also be responsible for development and management of key industry alliances and partnerships. Cook joined Douglas Scientific in 2009 from AbbeyMoor Medical, where he held various management positions.
Craig McLain has been promoted to vice president of business operations, where he will oversee sales and marketing as well as business administration for the company. McLain has been with Douglas Scientific since 2009 and prior to that was chief operating officer at American Solutions for Business.
Brent Urke joined Douglas Machine in 2004 and has since been promoted to director of manufacturing and service. He will oversee consumables and instrument production, customer service, manufacturing engineering, and logistics. Urke brings 13 years of mechanical engineering experience from his various positions at Douglas Machine and Fargo Automation.
Additionally, Kaylene Schultz and Jessie Hjelle have joined Douglas Scientific. Schultz assumes the marketing manager role and has 11 years of creative and solutions-driven marketing on both the local and national levels. Hjelle has eight years experience in human resources and joins Douglas as HR administrator.
