Sr. Imelda Knierim, 82

Sr. Imelda Knierim, 82, a member and current prioress of the Carmelite Hermits of Adoration, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud.

Sr. Imelda was born June 16, 1929 in Elyria, Ohio to the late William J. and Lula G. (Dean) Knierim.

On July 3, 1953 she made her perpetual vows in St. Louis, Missouri. Sr. Imelda was a resident of the Alexandria area from 1986 until moving to St. Cloud in 2007; and has most recently been a resident at St. Benedict’s Senior Community.

Sr. Imelda is survived by her sisters, Rosemary Littlefield of St. Louis, Missouri and Sr. Bernadine of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy and Patrick, both in 2008; as well as one sister, Theresa.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, April 11 at St. Benedicts Senior Community Chapel in St. Cloud with the Rev. Robert Rolfes officiating. Burial was at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
