The Arrows had nine hits, led by Jeannette Evavold’s 2-for-4 day. She added three RBIs, while Jaden Witt, Emily Elliot and Paige Nelson each added two hits and combined for four RBIs.
“It was great to pick up our first victory,” first-year head coach Kandace Norby said. “Today’s game was an exciting team effort with great defense, alert base running and aggressive hitting.”
The two teams were tied at three apiece after four innings. Ashby then took control of the game in the fifth with four two-out runs. The Arrows added two more in the sixth to help put the game away.
Nelson got the win from the circle. She tossed all seven innings, giving up five hits and striking out five.
