Letter - End of world won't be like movies

This is the time when we especially remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s son in human flesh. He died as our substitute for our sins and Jesus said, “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” (John 3:3)

To the editor:

This is the time when we especially remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s son in human flesh. He died as our substitute for our sins and Jesus said, “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” (John 3:3)

This is a spiritual birth. None of us is fit to come before God until he repents of his sin and asks for God’s forgiveness through Christ. Then we become a child of God with the promise of eternal life with God.

When Jesus went back to heaven, he rose up in the sky. When the disciples could no longer see him because of the clouds, two angels appeared and told them that Jesus would come back again in the same way. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) What a great promise. That was nearly 2,000 years ago. It hasn’t happened yet.

We’ve heard a lot of theories about the end of the world. It will not be as portrayed in the movies. There will be a terrible time of judgment for seven years, called the Great Tribulation. These are judgments of God against those who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ and God the Father.

After that time, Jesus himself will rule the Earth for 1,000 years. Read Revelations for the details.

Now is the opportunity we each have to make sure we are God’s child and will live with him forever and Jesus is the only way.
