Letter - Resurrection celebration

At the conclusion of the great resurrection chapter (I Corinthians 15), there is a triumphant affirmation. Verse 57 says, “But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

To the editor:

At the conclusion of the great resurrection chapter (I Corinthians 15), there is a triumphant affirmation. Verse 57 says, “But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Indeed, the resurrection of Christ procured the victory for all sinful men. Victory over sin, death and Hell is assured because our Lord Jesus Christ came up alive out of the grave.

Every Sunday is tribute time for the Savior, but once in a while we do something extra. That’s what we will do on Easter Sunday. Some will ignore it. Others will be critical of it. We plan to celebrate!

And when I say we’re celebrating, I do not mean with some substitute fiction about a rabbit that lays candy eggs. I’m talking about running the flag of resurrection to the top of the pole and saluting the Savior who rose from the grave.

I hope it will be a special time for you and for your church too.
