Students enjoy ice fishing adventure
Students made own jiggle sticks for fishing
In February, more than 200 children and adults attended an ice fishing adventure with the Miltona Magnet School.
Kids constructed jiggle sticks, learned how to tie a fishing knot, learned to identify and classify fish, and caught stuffed fish and sorted them into groups according to body shape, color or fin location. Shane Osborne, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources official, educated the children on ice safety.
The children tried out their new jiggle sticks and caught perch on Lake Miltona.
