Track and field: Silverstreaks 6th, 12th at Bemidji Indoor

Led by the girls’ 4x200-meter relay team’s first place finish, the Osakis girls finished sixth in the 25-team Paul Bunyan Classic indoor track and field meet at Bemidji State University Tuesday.

The Silverstreak boys finished 12th overall as senior Devon Nelson finished second in the 3,200-meter run.

Taylor Kraemer, Abby Stroup, Hannah Szech and Becka Sadlemyer ran to a 1:52.20 finish in the winning relay.

Finishing second for the girls was Szech in the triple jump and 400-meter dash, while Sadlemyer was fourth in the 200-meter dash.

Brittney Sadlemyer placed seventh in the 800-meter run and Kayla Sorenson was ninth in the high jump.

Kraemer also finished ninth in the long jump.

Grant Backes finished fourth for the boys in the 3,200-meter run, and he and Ryan Engfer, Nelson and Nick Sunder were seventh in the 4x800-meter relay.

Garret Scherr finished ninth in the shot put.
