Fire caused extensive damage at an Alexandria home early Saturday morning.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a report of the fire at 4076 County Road 11 NE in Carlos Township at about 12:45 a.m.
When Alexandria firefighters arrived at the scene, they could see flames shooting out of the house.
The owner of the home, Chad Krog, was alone at the time and was able to get out of the house without injury.
The home sustained substantial damage, according to the sheriff's office.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A drop tank was set up at the scene to battle the blaze.
Heavy fog limited visibility.
Also responding to the scene were the Alexandria Police Department and North Ambulance.
