Minnesota construction contractors and workers can now use online tools
to obtain their licenses.
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) has launched its
online DLI ReNew licensing system to allow individuals to apply for or
renew a license, certificate or registration.
Each year, DLI issues more than 50,000 licenses, certificates and
registrations for electrical, elevator, high-pressure-piping, plumbing
and residential contractors as well as boiler operators, electricians
and plumbers. Overall, Minnesota has approximately 120,000 license
holders in the construction industry.
"By using the DLI ReNew licensing system, both renewals and initial
applications submitted online can be processed a week faster than those
submitted by mail," said Ken Peterson, DLI commissioner. "Instead of
mailing paper forms and checks for processing, online users can enter
the necessary information, upload the required documents and pay their
fee in a matter of minutes."
