Moorman honored for HR excellence

Deb Moorman from Alexandria Extrusion has been selected by West Central Minnesota Society for Human Resource Management as the recipient for the 2011 Human Resources Award of Excellence.

This award honors a human resource (HR) professional who has made significant contributions to the HR profession and to his or her place of employment. The award criteria requires that the recipient be instrumental in the development of HR strategies and support the strategic goals of their organization. In addition, the recipient of the award must possess impeccable ethical standards and serve as a great role model, setting standards for others to follow.

Moorman is a human resource supervisor at Alexandria Extrusion Company (AEC) and is highly respected within the organization. She has developed many HR tools used today at the company and across all business units of its corporate headquarters of Alexandria Industries.

She is heavily involved with the hiring process, including compensation strategies, policies and procedures. She was also instrumental in AEC achieving Minnesota Star certification and is the driving force behind the company’s award winning wellness benefit program.

She’s involved in the community as a volunteer for Junior Achievement, the HR team at her church and the Cub Scout/Boy Scout programs. She served as president of West Central Minnesota Society for Human Resource Management from 2010 to 2012.
