The results are in for the 2012 township elections. While a lot of familiar faces will maintain their posts, some new candidates beat the odds. A vote passed in Miltona will change upcoming election dates from spring to fall.

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP
Bryan Alstead was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 29 votes. Russell Niskanen was elected for a two-year supervisor position with 29 votes. Thirty total votes were cast. www.alexandriatownship.org
BELLE RIVER TOWNSHIP
Geri Rindahl was re-elected for a clerk position. Clint Bachmann was elected for a supervisor position with 12 write-in votes. Four other write-in candidates received votes for the supervisor position: Richard Klein (one), Gerald Nelson (four), Lonny Collins (two), Gary Miller (two).
BRANDON TOWNSHIP
Township elections will be held in November.
CARLOS TOWNSHIP
Bill Krivanek won the election for a three-year supervisor position with 27 of 29 votes cast. Mickey Mouse received one vote; one blank ballot was cast. Rebecca Anderson was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 27 of 29 votes. Minnie Mouse received one vote; one blank ballot was cast. www.carlostownship.org
EVANSVILLE TOWNSHIP
Douglas Lee won the election for a three-year supervisor position with 10 votes. Kim Ostlund won with 10 votes for a two-year clerk position. Both were incumbents.
HOLMES CITY TOWNSHIP
David Fahlin was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position. Terrance Cooper was re-elected for a two-year clerk/treasurer position.
HUDSON TOWNSHIP
Ronald Fenelan was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position. Joan Eastlund was re-elected for a two-year clerk position.
IDA TOWNSHIP
Thomas L. Scearcy was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position. Barbara Kilgore was re-elected for a two-year clerk position. www.idatownship.com
LAGRAND TOWNSHIP
Gerhard “Gary” Thoennes was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 26 votes. One write-in vote was received.
LAKE MARY TOWNSHIP
Brad Brejcha was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 23 votes. Bonnie Lay was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 23 votes.
LEAF VALLEY TOWNSHIP
Wade Nibbe was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 38 votes. Pamela M. Cuperus was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 37 votes. Karen Schultz received one vote for clerk. www.leafvalleytownship.com
LUND TOWNSHIP
Troy Johnson won the election for a three-year supervisor position with 52 votes. Write-in candidate Dennis Week received 28 votes; his brother, Don Week, received one vote. Renee Odenes won the election for a one-year treasurer position with 50 votes. Heidi Thoennes, former treasurer, received 31 votes. Tom Reddick was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 78 votes; three blank ballots were cast.
MILLERVILLE TOWNSHIP
Steve Boesl was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 22 votes. Marilyn Bitzan was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 22 votes.
MILTONA TOWNSHIP
Matt Kugler was re-elected for a supervisor position with 47 votes. Jim Bous received 28 votes. Tomas A. Blank was re-elected for a clerk position with 71 votes; four votes were un-marked. Miltona also passed the ballot question whether or not to move the town elections to November. The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years has been designated as the date of the Miltona Township general elections. The question passed by a vote of 59 to 14 with three ballots left unmarked. By passing the question, the term of each board member becomes four years. www.miltonatownship.org
MOE TOWNSHIP
Rodney Johnson was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 28 votes. Todd Egenes was elected for a two-year clerk position with 27 votes. Voters approved the proposed budget of $291,000, payable 2013.
ORANGE TOWNSHIP
Mitch Zarbok was elected for a supervisor position with 17 votes. Jennifer Dietrich was elected for a clerk position with 17 votes.
OSAKIS TOWNSHIP
Duane Boogaard was elected for a supervisor position with 10 votes. Dawn McNeal was elected for a clerk/treasurer position with eight votes.
SOLEM TOWNSHIP
Kenneth Anderson was re-elected to a three-year supervisor position on a write-in vote. Jaclyn Halvorson was re-elected for a two-year clerk position.
SPRUCE HILL TOWNSHIP
Neil Garrett was re-elected for three-year supervisor position with 38 votes. Three write-in candidates also received votes: Charlotte Hauer (31), Kathy Howard (two), Darwin Hart (one). Colleen Burquest was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 72 votes.
URNESS TOWNSHIP
Rachel Johnson was elected for a two-year supervisor position with 14 votes. Jim Thompson was re-elected for a three-year supervisor position with 14 votes. Judi Andreasen was re-elected for a two-year clerk position with 14 votes. There were 165 registered voters and 14 voters turned out for the election. Two new voters have registered since the election.
