LAR gymnastics

Lakes Area gymnasts were a part of the Winter Challenge at Concordia University recently, finishing second overall as a team.

The squad also had eight gymnasts place individually with Rachel Borden, Sydney Gray, Jacy Roste and McKenna Thoennes earning All-Around honors.

The team is slated to travel to St. Cloud for the Tropical_Twist meet on February 19.

Here's how the Lakes Area gymnasts did:

LEVEL 5

(Age 7-9 category)

RACHEL BOYDEN: fourth on balance beam, fourth on floor, fifth on vault, fifth in All-Around.

PAYTON OLSON: fifth on balance beam.

(Age 10 category)

SYDNEY GRAY: second on vault, second on uneven bars, third on balance beam, second on floor, second in All-Around.

(Age 11+ category)

NICOLE BRITTIN: fourth on floor.

ANNIKA COFFMAN: fourth on uneven bars.

JACY ROSTE: second on uneven bars, second on balance beam, second in All-Around.

MCKENNA THOENNES: fourth on vault, first on balance beam, third in All-Around.

LEVEL 6

(Age 11 category)

JOSLYN KENT: fourth on uneven bars.
