Crash causes minor injuries near Leaf Valley

A two-vehicle crash In Leaf Valley Township caused minor injuries Wednesday afternoon.
At about 3 p.m., Jeremy Swartz was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe north on County Road 12 when he slowed down for a stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection with County Road 5, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Theodore Salto was driving west on County Road 5 in a 1991 Chevrolet pickup and was unable to avoid colliding with Swartz’s vehicle. Salto didn’t have a stop sign and had the right of way, according to the sheriff’s department, which cited driver inattention as the cause of the crash.
Both drivers were seat-belted and were assessed on the scene by medical personnel. They were not transported to the hospital.
Both vehicles sustained major damage.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, North Ambulance and the Leaf Valley First Responders responded to the crash.
