Mystery and western comedy on tap at LAT

Lakes Area Theatre in Alexandria is offering 'A Queen's Ransom' and 'The Cowboy and the Lady' this week.

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:

ON STAGE

Private detective Phil Byrnes is out to solve another case in A Queen’s Ransom on Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Lakes Area Theatre studio. At stake is a ruby and diamond bracelet found around a kitten’s neck and worth a queen’s ransom.

This detective series is written by playwright Sable Jak. Directed by Kevin Lee, working on the case are Mary Pohl, Al Senstad, Bruce Wegner, Lindsey Johnston, Tim Ray, Quincy Roers and Mike Roers. Music is by Bob Piotrowski with sound effects by Kent Garlinghouse.

ON THE AIR

Can a wealthy socialite and a rodeo rider whose dream is to live on an open-air ranch tending cattle find lasting romance? Tune in Sunday, March 18 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM to find out the answer in The Cowboy and the Lady.

Directed by Tim Ray, the show stars Betsy Ostenson, Curt Ostenson, Deb Long, Tim Long and Kathy Ray. Music is by Bob Piotrowski and sound effects are by Kent Garlinghouse.
