The premier western cowboy group in the country – Riders In the Sky – will be bringing their legendary cowboy songs to Alexandria.
The group will perform a concert for the Central Lakes Concert Association (CLCA) on Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson High School gymnasium.
The Grammy Award winning quartet will perform some of their well-known favorites, including Tumblin’ Tumbleweeds, Cool Water, Ghost Riders In the Sky, Back In the Saddle Again, Rawhide and Happy Trails.
For more than 30 years the group members have been keepers of the flame passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing the genre.
As a classic cowboy quartet, the trail has led them to heights they could have never predicted, appearing in venues everywhere from the Nashville National Guard Armory to Carnegie Hall and from county fairs to the Hollywood Bowl.
To purchase season tickets prior to the concert, call Jan Johnson at (320) 762-1350 or Bernita Darveaux at (320) 763-6248. Tickets are also available at the event when doors open at 6:45 p.m.
