Letter - Encouraging people not to work

To the editor: I would like to make a comment about Representative Mary Franson's video. I know a person a few years back that had a heart attack and was supposed to take six to eight weeks off from work to recover. The family went in to get food stamps to help them out while this person was recovering and they were turned down because they had jobs! They were told to quit their jobs and then they would qualify for food stamps.

I would like to make a comment about Representative Mary Franson's video. I know a person a few years back that had a heart attack and was supposed to take six to eight weeks off from work to recover. The family went in to get food stamps to help them out while this person was recovering and they were turned down because they had jobs! They were told to quit their jobs and then they would qualify for food stamps.

They are encouraging people not to work. I thought food stamps and welfare were there to help people out when they had problems. Instead, people in this country have learned to depend on food stamps and welfare because they don't work and have taught their kids not to work and to get food stamps and welfare the same way!

We have a problem in this country and it's the working person supporting the non-working person and thanks to our current president, he wants more of the same!
