A 43-year-old Brandon woman died after her vehicle veered off County Road 7 and collided with a power pole north of Brandon Thursday afternoon at about 2 p.m.
Cherryl Kay Martell was the only occupant of the vehicle, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
She was treated at the scene by the Brandon First Responders and North Ambulance personnel and then air-lifted by LifeLink helicopter to St. Cloud Hospital. She died a short time later.
The sheriff's office received assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.
Martell attended Evansville High School and received a degree in practical nursing from the Alexandria Technical and Community College.
She is survived by her parents, Luther and Ardelle Anderson of Evansville, and three children – Jessica Anderson, Alexander Martell, both of Leaf Valley, and Anna Martell of Evansville.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at Christina Lake Lutheran Church, where she was a member.
