Woman injured in rollover near Kensington
A 21-year-old woman from Appleton was injured in a one-vehicle rollover near Kensington at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
A 21-year-old woman from Appleton was injured in a one-vehicle rollover in Solem Township near Kensington at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Ellissa Devaughn Schmidt was the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle. She was traveling north on County Road 1 south of Highway 27 West in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle left the roadway, went into the ditch and rolled several times, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Schmidt was transported to the Douglas County Hospital's Emergency Room via North Ambulance. Schmidt was scheduled to be flown by helicopter to Hennepin County Medical Center.
As of Thursday evening, Schmidt was in stable condition.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time and will be investigated further.
In addition to the sheriff's office, others responding to the scene were the Kensington First Responders and Hoffman Ambulance.
