Alexandria swimmer Kris Aaseng advanced to the finals in two events at the State Class A swimming and diving championships at the Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus yesterday.
Aaseng was fifth in the 200 free preliminaries with a time of 1:47.10, qualifying him for today's finals.
He also finished fourth in the 500 free with a time of 4:52.33 to advance in that event as well.
Kyle Pietrowski, swimming the 500 free, finished 19th in 5:12.38, not making the cut.
In the 100 breaststroke, Elliot Jacobson came in 26th in 1:03.75, leaving him out of the finals.
The 400 free relay was 15th in 3:25.13 and the 200 free relay was disqualified, ending their state tournament appearance.
