Lakes Area Theatre brings the Old West to the stage
Tune in Sunday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM as LAT presents three short stories from the old time radio variety show, “The Fleischmann’s Yeast Hour,” (also known as The Rudy Vallee Hour).
Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:
ON STAGE
Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m., LAT is presenting “the best dern show in the west,” The Cowboy and the Lady.
Directed by Tim Ray, the show stars Betsy Ostenson, Curt Ostenson, Deb Long, Tim Long, Kathy Ray and Tim Ray. Bob Piotrowski is the man behind the music and Kent Garlinghouse is handling sound effects.
Come and experience a good, old-fashioned oater made for radio.

ON THE AIR

Each show has its own message of irony to deliver. All three were directed by Betsy Ostenson. The Church Mouse stars Samantha Olson and Jim Johnson. Help Wanted stars Michelle Toso, Randy Johnson, Jim Johnson and Samantha Olson. Miss Tithinwither at the Prize Fight stars Betsy Ostenson and Curt Ostenson. Music is by Arlyn Swenson, with Curt Ostenson on sound effects. The show also contains a teaser for the March 11 show saluting St. Patrick’s Day, featuring a famous area trio of musicians.
