School boards throughout the state were recently honored as part of School Board Recognition Week, February 20-24.
The Minnesota School Boards Association designated the week as a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in society.
The Alexandria School District 206 joined with other districts throughout the state to recognize the important contributions board members make to communities.
“District 206 students benefit every day from the dedication and commitment to public education of our school board members. They establish a vision for our educational program and facilities, ensure strong fiscal management and accountability, and are committed to life-long learning by attending workshops to keep abreast of the latest trends in education,” said Superintendent Terry Quist. “On behalf of District 206 staff, students and families, we extend our appreciation and thanks to the following school board members for their hard work and dedication.”
