Lori Michelle Carstens and Alexandr Anatoliy Lipchanskiy were united in marriage on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Saul Stensvaag.
Lori is the daughter of Dennis and Barb Carstens of Alexandria. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria and from Concordia College in Moorhead with a double major in elementary education and Spanish. She teaches at the Rothsay School in Rothsay and works for Targeted Services for the Fergus Falls School District. Lori is also an Usborne Books and More consultant.
Alexandr is the son of Anatoliy and Mila Lipchanskiy of Krasnodar, Russia. Alex graduated from high school in Karajal, Kazakhstan and from Bemidji State University with a major in computer information systems and a minor in business administration. He is currently working for Xerox as a senior consultant analyst.
Cindy Paulson, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Abbigale Paulson, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Personal attendant was Vicky Peterson, college friend of the bride’s.
Jonathan Anderson of Fergus Falls served as the best man. Mikkel Paulson, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Ushers were Christopher Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Matt Saurer and Todd Luther, all friends of the groom.
Honored guests included Lorraine Carstens, the bride’s grandmother, and Rick and Deb Anderson, the groom’s honorary American parents, with his biological parents present in spirit.
A dinner reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
The couple will honeymoon in Russia in 2012. They reside in Fergus Falls.
