WCA girls' basketball: Knights outlast Johnnies

The West Central Area girls’ basketball team celebrated Senior Night with a 44-37 win over St. John’s Prep on Tuesday night.

The Knights trailed by two at the break but outscored the Johnnies 35-16 after halftime. Jen Froemming led the way with 18 points, while Holly VanKempen added 10.

“We were getting many nice shots off in the first half but were not getting them to fall,” head coach Beth Hanson said. “The second half started in a very similar manner...with about five minutes remaining in the game, we picked it up.”
