1.04 TO: POTENTIAL BIDDERS

A. Interested general contractors are invited to submit sealed bids to the Owner for a new precast concrete firehall in Carlos, MN. Bids will be received by the Owner at 109 1st. St. W., Carlos, MN before 10AM local time on the 28 day of February, 2012 when the bids will be opened pubilcly. Address sealed bids to: City of Carlos, Attention: Ervin Dahl, 109 1st St. W., Carlos, MN 56308. Note the name of the project on the outside of the bid envelope.

B. Bids will be received as General Contract bids. Bids listing any qualifications will not be accepted.

C. Project Description: New firehall which includes: Apparatus room, Hose tower, Compressor room, Kitchen, Meeting room, ADA toilet rooms, Office, Storage, Training room and Mechanical room. Other work includes new utilities and site prep and site parking.

E. Optional paper copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Widseth Smith Nolting & Assoc., Inc. 610 Fillmore Street, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308 upon payment of $60.00 for each set which is not refundable. Documents may also be viewed at the office of the Architect.

F. Documents may be obtained only by general contract and any subcontract bidders. Contractors may also view the Bid Documents at the office of the Owner and at the office of the Architect.

G. Qualified Bidders must obtain all permits required by the: location of project. Bidders will be required to provide A Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount. Cash or A certified check in the amount of no less than 5 percent of the bid amount is also acceptable.

H. Refer to other bidding requirements described in Document 00 2113 - Instructions to Bidders .

I. Bids must be held for a period of 60 days after submission. Work is scheduled to begin: T.B.D. The agreement for the work will be written on AIA Document A101 Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor where the basis of payment is a stipulated sum.

J. Submit your offer on the Bid Form provided. Bidders may supplement this form as appropriate.

K. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers.
