Alex Nordic Skiing: Sieling takes in second straight trip to state
Sophomore Julia Sieling finished 105th as she represented Alexandria at the state Nordic ski meet at Giants Ridge in Biwabik last Thursday.
Sieling finished in a total time of 41:45.9 in her second straight trip to the state meet. She skied the freestyle course in 19:35 before finishing the classic portion of the race in 22:10.9.
"Julia had a very good season and everyone who is involved with the Nordic ski program here in Alexandria is very proud of her and what she has been able to accomplish up to this point in her career," head coach Luke Erickson said. "Julia, being a sophomore, will have two more years to continue to build upon these performances and that will be fun to watch."
Nora Gilbertson of Stillwater Area won the state meet in a time of 33:54.3 and Duluth East took home the team title, beating Wayzata by one point 372-371.
