Energy assistance program help is available for your energy costs. The average grant is $499. Funding is provided for oil, propane, wood and electric or natural gas costs.

Residents of Douglas, Grant, Stevens, Pope, Traverse, Wilkin and Clay counties should call West Central Minnesota Communities Action at (218) 685-4486 or 1-800-492-4805 for an application.

Certain income guidelines must be met. Assistance is also available for furnace repairs or replacements and the weatherization program. There is no asset limit.

This program is funded by the Minnesota Department of Commerce and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
