Boys' basketball: Ashby cruises past Parkers Prairie

The Ashby boys’ basketball team led by 20 at the break and never looked back in a 56-23 win over Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night.

Riley Mickelson had a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds. J.P. Moe added 13 points and Blake Ohren finished with 10 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

“I was really happy with our intensity and rotation on the defensive end of the floor,” head coach Jeremy Knick said. “We forced them to make some turnovers or contested almost every shot…overall, I was very happy with the way we played tonight.”

The win was the sixth straight for the Arrows (14-1, 6-1 LEC) and helped them keep pace with Battle Lake in the Little Eight Conference. The Battlers were 8-0 in LEC play and undefeated at 16-0 after Tuesday night. These two teams will meet for the second time on February 17 in Battle Lake.
