Card boys' swimming and diving: Alexandria falls to Sartell

Alexandria swimmers picked up just two individual wins, both from Kris Aaseng, as the Cardinals fell to Sartell 119-66. Aaseng won both the 200 free in 1:53.51 and the 500 free in 5:12.16.

The Cardinals also earned seven runner-up finishes as Austin McCulloch was second in the 200 free in 1:59.74, Elliot Jacobson finished second in diving with a score of 173.15, Mark Kallevig was second in the 100 fly in 1:02.03, Eric Moe was second in the 100 free in 52.20 and Zac Bartolomeo was runner-up in the 100 back in 1:02.71.

Alexandria’s 200 free relay team of Kyle Blank, Zach Cahlin, Aaseng and Moe was second as was the 400 free relay team of Bartolomeo, McCulloch, Cahlin and Aaseng.

“A best time was recorded by McCulloch in the 200 free,” said head coach Mark Storhaug. “Austin dropped below the two-minute mark for the first time this season.”

Aaron Pietrowski recorded a season best in the 200 free and Jake Strand cut time in the 100 free.
