Card Nordic skiing: Sieling, Flynn lead Alexandria skiers
Warm weather forced the Fergus Falls Nordic ski invitational to be moved to Maplelag Ski Resort near Detroit Lakes.
The Cardinals still got high finishes. Julia Sieling earned a fifth place finish in the field of 44 skiers, coming in with a time of 15:36, while Melissa Gromatka was 12th in 16:57.
For the boys, Pat Flynn led the way with a 16th place finish in 14:28.50 as he competed with 44 other skiers. Cody Call was 28th in 15:05.
“The Cardinals competed very well and really enjoyed getting on to a course made of Mother Nature’s snow!” said head coach Luke Erickson.
Monday’s Little Falls Invitational has been moved from Camp Ripley to Mt. Itasca in Coleraine due to the lack of snow.
