Vikingland Sportsmen complete fish stocking efforts

The Viking Sportsmen fish stocking committee completed its fifth year of stocking efforts on Lake L’Homme Dieu by putting 765 pounds of walleye fingerlings into the lake on December 26.

The fingerlings, as well as some 12- and 13-inch walleye were put in at three locations on L’Homme Dieu – the beach on Highway 29, Rotary Beach and the access at Krueger’s Creek.

Originally a five-year plan, the committee will add an additional sixth year to their stocking efforts on the Alexandria Chain of Lakes. That was made possible due to public support. Anyone who wants to help in the stocking efforts can make a donation to the Viking Sportsmen by sending checks earmarked for fish stocking to PO Box 301 in Alexandria.
