Card gymnastics: Early lead doesn't hold up for Alexandria

The Cardinals held an early lead, but couldn’t sustain the momentum as Brainerd came from behind for a 134.9-131.625 win in Central Lakes Conference gymnastics Thursday night.

“It was a close meet,” said head coach Becca Cederberg. “The Cardinal gymnasts had the lead on the first two events, [but] the Brainerd Warriors took the lead on floor and beam.”

The Cardinals were led by Tahlia Bowden’s scores on the beam and floor as she posted an 8.85 and an 8.775, while Hannah Wendell had an 8.75 on vault and Briquelle Bowden scored an 8.5 on bars.

Alexandria will host St. Cloud Tech tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m.
