Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 who are attending public, private, or home schools and living in the Lake Region Arts Council region (which includes Douglas County), are eligible to submit online applications for an arts study award worth over $500. The deadline to submit the online application is February 1, 2012.

Applications may be submitted online at www.LRACgrants.org. Applicants will need to create a user logon to review the guidelines and submit an application. Successful applicants will present their work and individually interview with a jury of arts educators and professional artists at Underwood School on March 3, 2011 to complete the application process.

The goal of this program is to enhance the student’s artistic creativity and skill, as well as personal growth. A number of students will be selected to study their chosen art form with a professional artist over a four-month period, from June to October 2012.
