The Alexandria Police Department has released surveillance video of the November 14 burglary.

Alexandria Police Department responded to a burglary call at Ace Hardware, 406 Broadway Street, in Alexandria on November 14. The burglary occurred in the early morning hours and police were on scene at approximately 7 a.m., according to a report released Monday, November 28.

Suspects stole power tools and hand tools worth more than $10,000, Chief Rick Wyffels said. Other valuables estimated at $6,000 were also taken.

The exterior door was pried open and wires were cut to gain access into Ace Hardware. Further investigation revealed that the wires were cut in an attempt to disable the alarm systems, according to police.

Damage to the business included destroyed computers, surveillance equipment and alarm systems.

Although the surveillance system was damaged, it caught two suspects on camera. One suspect is on camera peering into the cash register.

The incident remains under investigation by the Alexandria Police Department.

Anyone with information should call police at (320) 763-6631.
