DNR plans statewide meetings about off-highway trail assistance grants

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Parks and Trails has scheduled a series of statewide meetings that will provide important information about the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) grant-in-aid (GIA) program.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Parks and Trails has scheduled a series of statewide meetings that will provide important information about the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) grant-in-aid (GIA) program. These meetings pertain only to groups with an active interest in all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), off-road vehicles (ORVs) such as sport utility vehicles and modified trucks, and off-highway motorcycles (OHMs), not snowmobiles.

Attending one of these meetings is required for groups currently receiving GIA funds. The meetings also will be helpful to local units of government that sponsor GIA contracts and clubs that want to expand public OHV trails in Minnesota. DNR staff will distribute the revised GIA manual and forms, walk through the GIA application process, provide updates on program funding, and answer questions. The next round of grant applications will be due Dec. 15.
