Girls' swimming and diving: Section 6A meet begins today
Many of last year’s Section 6A girls’ swimming and diving competitors who earned spots in the State Class a meet last season will be back once again to compete for spots as the qualifying meet begins today at the University of Minnesota-Morris at 5 p.m.
Competition will continue tomorrow, Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
Alexandria’s only competitor in last year’s state meet, Rosey Erickson, graduated, and the Cardinals will be looking for new representation.
Sartell-St. Stephen will hold most of the firepower when today’s action begins as Marisa Wood returns. She set a new Class A record in the 200 free and the 500 free events as she led her team to a third place finish.
