Jaran Roste moved through the local Punt, Pass and Kick competition recently to finish third in the sectional competition. Last year, Roste finished second.
During the local event, hosted by the Alexandria Jaycees, 15 boys and girls ages 8-13 battled for spots in the section at Willmar.
Jamie Burss won the 11-12 year old girls’ division, while Gunner Anderson won the 8-9 year old boys’ division, Travis Yohnke the 10-11 year old boys’ division, and Roste the 12-13 year old boys’ division, as well as being the high points winner.
The NLF Punt, Pass and Kick (PPK) program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6-15. Established in 1961, the PPK program is the oldest NFL youth football program. Girls and boys in five separate age divisions compete against each other in punting, passing and kicking for distance and accuracy.
