Area artists to showcase work in Fergus Falls

Lake Region Arts Council will host an artist reception for its newest exhibit, "Art from Natural Material" on October 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the LRAC/McKnight Gallery in Fergus Falls. The public is invited to attend the reception to meet the artists. This is a juried exhibit featuring original work by regional artists who use natural materials as their main medium.

The exhibit features the art work of the following seasoned and new emerging artists:

Karen Aakre, Underwood,

Connie Bullock, Ashby,

Maggie Eriksson-Evans, Fergus Falls,

Dick DuBord, Dent,

Ron Groby, Fergus Falls,

Richard Grella, Terrace,

Laird Rice, Fergus Falls.

Laura Youngbird, Breckenridge

The artists featured in this exhibit are not simply depicting landscape, but engaging it, through their use of materials found in nature: wood, natural fibers, stone, leaves, etc. "Art from Natural Material" will be on display in the gallery through January 13, 2012.
