Manufacturers, state agencies, and legislative representatives will meet at a number of events during Minnesota’s Manufacturers Week, October 23 through October 29.
A supporting sponsor of Minnesota Manufacturers Week, the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA), is hosting and supporting several events during the week. Most notably, MPMA, along with Minnesota Business Magazine will present the 2011 Minnesota Manufacturing Awards at the association’s annual meeting on Thursday, October 27. The event begins with networking and a silent auction to benefit the MPMA Education Foundation at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and keynote speaker Toby Madden, Regional Economist from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The annual meeting is held at the Doubletree Hotel Minneapolis Park Place. Earlier in the week, MPMA will host the Region 9 Manufacturing Job Fair at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, MN on Tuesday, October 25. This job fair is specifically for manufacturing companies located in the nine-county area including; Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Sibley, Martin, Nicollet, Le Seuer, Waseca and Watonwan Counties. MPMA will conclude Manufacturer’s Week as a sponsor of the Statewide Tour of Manufacturing. On October 29, manufacturing companies are invited to open their doors for public tours. More information and a list of participating companies are available at www.tourofmanufacturingmn.com

Minnesota Manufacturers Week is an annual event during the last week of October. The week is filled with events meant to recognize the importance of manufacturing to Minnesota’s economy. This year, during the week of October 23 – 29, MPMA along with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, will sponsor events taking place throughout the week.
