A 59-year-old man who was moving from Vermont to Washington was injured in a one-vehicle crash in western Douglas County Tuesday afternoon.
Timothy Earl Howell was driving a U-Haul rental truck and traveling east on County Road 41 when the vehicle veered to the right and left the roadway at about 4:20 p.m. The tires caught the edge of the road, causing the truck to flip on its side and partially roll. It came to rest on its side in the ditch.
Howell, who was traveling alone, was wearing his seat belt. He was transferred to the Douglas County Hospital via North Ambulance. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The crash was the result of Howell being unfamiliar with the road design, the sheriff's office said.
Responding units included North Ambulance, Evansville First Responders and the sheriff's office.
