The event, which was held at Discovery Middle School in Alexandria on Wednesday, September 21, is about one mile in length and is free to all students who wish to participate.

Boys and girls who finished 6th through 15th in their divisions received pins. Second through 5th place finishers received medals and each grade level winner received a trophy. All pre-registered runners that finished received finisher T-shirts, courtesy of sponsoring businesses.

All participants’ names are put into a random drawing for a bike. Jordan Dahl from Carlos was the winner.

Traveling trophies were awarded to the teacher/school with the top 5th and 6th grade team.

According to Travis Hochhalter, event organizer and 6th grade teacher, this event is held to promote physical fitness among youth.
