Sportsmen fundraiser
The Evansville Area Sportsmen will hold their annual fundraising banquet on Saturday, October 8 and are looking for donations to help raise money for local habitat projects.

Holes-in-one
Two holes-in-one were recorded at the Geneva Golf Club recently.
On August 17, Tracy Seth aced the 80-yard Ponds No. 3 using a 7-iron. Golfing with Seth were Stacey Suchy, Kristi Wenner and Jana Horstman.
On September 8, Mark Suchy shot a hole-in-one on the 121-yard Island No. 4 using a 52º wedge. He was golfing with Scott Johanson, Mark Rice and Kyle Olson.
A hole-in-one was also recorded at the Atikwa Golf Club on September 15 when Brian Benscoter of Detroit Lakes aced the 115-yard, par 3 No. 8 with a pitching wedge. He was golfing with friends.
Area athletes on BSU football team
Alexandria’s Ethan Favor-Jackson and Kensington’s Colton Blascyk are both freshmen members of this year’s Bemidji State University football team.
Favor-Jackson is a defensive lineman majoring in environmental studies, while Blascyk, a defensive back, is majoring in elementary education.
VBA sporting
clays postponed
Due to a lack of registration, the VBA 2011 Fall Sporting Clay Shooting has been postponed to September 30 at the Elk Lake Heritage Preserve in Hoffman.

Tough Man golf tourney
Tipsinah Mounds Golf Club of Elbow Lake will hold its Tough Man tournament on Sunday, October 9, beginning at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start.
Registration for the 18-hole tournament will be from 11:30 a.m.-noon.
Format is a two-person scramble on the front nine and Chapman scoring on the back nine.
Flights and prizes will be dependent on the number of entries.

Charger fundraising golf tournament
The 5th annual Brandon-Evansville Charger athletics fundraiser golf tournament is set for Saturday, September 24, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the Pine Ridge Golf Course.
Entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and a meal. The tournament is open to the first 18 paid teams.
All proceeds benefit Brandon-Evansville athletics.

Fall bowling leagues forming
Fall leagues are now forming at the Garden Center Lanes.
Leagues are available for seniors, men, women, mixed and co-ed.

Classic Cardinal fan
Classic Cardinal fan passes, available to those 65 years of age and older, are available for $20 at any Cardinal contest or at the activities office at Jefferson High School.
The pass is good for 10 regular season events, a $40 savings.
No individual tickets sold at contests will reflect a senior citizen price.
