Minnesota Business Magazine to announce winners of manufacturing awards

The Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA) and Minnesota Business Magazine are excited to announce a collaboration for the first-ever Minnesota Manufacturing Awards. The winners will be announced at MPMA’s 2011 Annual Meeting on October 27.

The awards honor the depth of innovation in the Minnesota manufacturing scene. As the economy struggles to come out of the latest recession, strong business models and ethics have kept manufacturing in Minnesota alive and well; developing new products, new markets, new technologies and other tools to fuel economic growth, according to MPMA.

Awards will be provided in the categories of: Manufacturing Company of the Year; Manufacturing Executive of the Year; Manufacturer Innovation of the Year; Emerging Manufacturer of the Year; and Top Women Owned Manufacturing Company of the Year.

About the MPMA Annual Meeting

The 56th Annual Meeting of the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association will be held Thursday, October 27. The event will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel Minneapolis Park Place, begins at 5 p.m. with networking and a silent auction to benefit the MPMA Educational Opportunities Foundation. The 2011 Minnesota Manufacturing Awards will be presented to the winners during the business portion of the event beginning around 6:30 p.m. The keynote speaker, Toby Madden, Regional Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, begins at 8 p.m.
