IMPROVEMENTS
ALEXANDRIA, MINNESOTA
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Alexandria City Council, at the Alexandria City Hall, 704 Broadway, Alexandria, Minnesota, until 11:00 A.M., September 21, 2011, at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor and all else necessary for the South Broadway Storm Sewer Improvements project in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Major items include the following approximate quantities:
500 SY – Bituminous Pavement
260 LF – 42” RC Pipe Sewer
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bidders bond acceptable to the Alexandria City Council in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the Alexandria City Council. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by law within the specified number of days after the award of the contract, such check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.

Optional paper copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Widseth Smith Nolting & Assoc., Inc. 610 Fillmore Street, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308 upon payment of $40.00 for each set which is not refundable.
All bids must be submitted on the official forms, prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be directed to the City Administrator, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made.
The Alexandria City Council reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time set for receiving bids and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract as the City deems in their best interest.
